It’s a dark and stormy night when Sheriff Rocky Allan encounters a drenched stranger on the way to Brookdale’s only hotel. The stranger asks, “Has it occurred to you, Mr. Allan, that it’s an excellent night for murder?” Rocky discovers this is more premonition than observation, as the stranger is found shot to death in his hotel room the next morning.
